Tilsiter Lichtspiele is a two-screen Programmkino with its own bar (Kneipe) on Richard-Sorge-Straße in Friedrichshain. The cinema says it was founded in 1908 on what was then Tilsiter Straße, which has been called Richard-Sorge-Straße since 1969. The bar serves a house beer from its own brewery. Together with Kino Intimes, Kino Zukunft and the Freiluftkino Neue Zukunft open-air cinema, it forms what its operator calls the kinoachse Friedrichshain.
The two rooms differ in size: Tilsiter 1 has 69 seats and Tilsiter 2 has 26. For public transport, the cinema lists the M10 tram stops Straßmannstraße and Bersarinplatz and the U5 stations Weberwiese and Frankfurter Tor. It says it keeps advertising before the film to ten minutes at most and asks visitors to arrive on time.
The cinema notes that films without a language label are shown in German, and it marks other language versions OmdU or OmeU. Neither label by itself means English audio. Our listings here are for English-audio screenings.
