Freiluftkino Friedrichshain is a seasonal open-air cinema on the open-air stage in Volkspark Friedrichshain, run by Freiluftkino.Berlin FKR GmbH, the operator of Freiluftkino Kreuzberg. The screen is set among mature trees, and the cinema lists laser projection. Screenings go ahead whatever the weather.
The cinema lists trams M5, M6 and M8: from Landsberger Allee S-Bahn station to the Klinikum im Friedrichshain stop, or from Alexanderplatz to Platz der Vereinten Nationen. From Prenzlauer Berg or Warschauer Straße it suggests tram M10 to Landsberger Allee/Petersburger Straße and a change there. Seats are not assigned: there are wooden benches, chairs at bistro tables and the lawn, and cushions and blankets are lent out except when it rains. The cinema describes itself as wheelchair accessible but recommends assistance or a mobility aid for the entrance and the paths to the seating; an induction loop covers the last four rows of the middle block. Its accessibility page has the details.
The operator says most of its films are shown dubbed into German, with English-language and subtitled films as a smaller part of the programme. A subtitled screening is not necessarily in English. Our listings here are for English-audio screenings.
