fsk Kino am Oranienplatz · in Berlin

About this cinema

fsk Kino am Oranienplatz is an independent arthouse cinema on Segitzdamm in Kreuzberg, close to Oranienplatz. It was founded in 1988 on Wiener Straße and moved in 1994 to its current glass building, which has two screening rooms. The team chooses the programme collectively, with a focus on artistic feature films and documentaries that rarely reach the usual distribution circuit, and the same collective runs the Peripher film distribution company. Some screenings come with guests or a talk after the film. In 2026 the cinema received the Kunstpreis Berlin from the Akademie der Künste.

fsk lists Moritzplatz (U8) and Kottbusser Tor (U1, U3 and U8) for the U-Bahn, and bus lines M29 and 140. It notes that the streets around Oranienplatz are a paid parking zone and suggests coming by public transport or bike. fsk describes the cinema as suitable for wheelchair users.

fsk's own film pages state each film's spoken language and subtitles, and a label such as OmU means the original version with German subtitles. OmU does not by itself mean English audio. Our listings here are for English-audio screenings.
