Zoo Palast is a seven-room cinema on Hardenbergstraße, run by PREMIUM Entertainment, which also operates the ASTOR Film Lounge on Kurfürstendamm. The cinema says it was the Berlinale's main competition venue from 1957 to 1999 and has been a festival venue again since 2014. Its listed main room, Kino 1, has 792 seats, a starry ceiling over eleven metres high, Dolby Atmos sound and a 70mm film projector; Kino 2, the former Atelier, has been restored to its original design under listed-building rules. Two small club rooms are fitted out as libraries with their own bar.
The operator's programme mixes current releases with previews, festival screenings, classic films and events, and it groups some screenings under an "Originalfassung" (original version) heading. That label does not by itself mean English audio. Our listings here are for English-audio screenings.
For public transport, Zoo Palast lists Zoologischer Garten (S-Bahn, U2, U9, regional trains and many buses) and Kurfürstendamm (U1). Its room information lists wheelchair spaces in every room except Club B and describes every room as not accessible for disabled visitors, while the same page says all rooms except Club B are built to be accessible, so check with the cinema before your visit if access matters. The venue page has the room and transport details.
