ASTOR Film Lounge Berlin is a single-room cinema on Kurfürstendamm, run by PREMIUM Entertainment, which also operates the Zoo Palast in Berlin. The cinema says it opened in 1948 as the Kiki in a residential building dating from 1895/96, and that architect Gerhard Fritsche's redesign of the early 1950s has largely survived. The listed building reopened under the ASTOR name at the end of 2008. Alongside current releases, the operator's programme includes opera broadcasts, classic-film matinees and other special screenings.
The room has 231 adjustable leather armchairs with wide spacing between rows, and drinks and snacks are served at your seat. Seats are numbered. ASTOR describes the room as fully accessible for disabled visitors, with two wheelchair spaces, and asks guests who need help on the night to let the team know.
For public transport, ASTOR lists Kurfürstendamm U-Bahn station (U1, U9) and the M19, 109, 110, M29, M46 and X10 buses, and gives Zoologischer Garten as a ten-minute walk. The cinema's directions and venue page has the current details. Our listings here are for its English-audio screenings.
