Kino Central is an arthouse cinema on Rosenthaler Straße in Mitte, run by Central Kino Mitte GmbH. It has two auditoriums, with 96 and 76 seats, plus a foyer and terrace. The cinema describes its programme as arthouse, film classics, considered mainstream releases, premieres and special events, with a large children's programme. In the open-air season it also screens in the courtyard of Haus Schwarzenberg.
Kino Central shows original versions with English or German subtitles, or without subtitles. OmU (German subtitles) and OmeU (English subtitles) describe the subtitles, not the spoken language, so neither label by itself means English audio. Our listings here are for English-audio screenings.
The cinema lists U8 Weinmeisterstraße and S Hackescher Markt for public transport. Both auditoriums have a hearing loop. Wheelchair access is limited: Auditorium 1 is reached by lift from the courtyard, but the foyer and toilets are up a few steps; Auditorium 2 is a few steps up from the courtyard. The cinema asks wheelchair users to call ahead, and its information page has the room and access details.
