Filmrauschpalast is an independent neighbourhood cinema in Moabit, on the first floor of the Kulturfabrik on Lehrter Straße. It is run by the Filmrausch Moabit association, and its programme has been carried by volunteers since 1995. Alongside new releases, it shows genre films beyond the mainstream, Asian cinema and demanding, unusual work, and it gives young filmmakers a place to show their work and talk with the audience. In summer the cinema also holds open-air screenings in its courtyard.
The single screening room has 60 seats, with 4K digital projection and 35mm and 16mm projectors that the cinema uses regularly for film prints. Many of its screenings are labelled OmeU, which its programme explains as the original version with English subtitles. That label does not by itself mean English audio. Our listings here are for English-audio screenings.
The cinema's venue page says it is not barrier-free: there are flights of steps up to the cinema and foyer, four more steps into the screening room, and no lift. The toilets are on the ground floor, and the cinema has no parking of its own.
