filmkunst 66 is a Programmkino (arthouse cinema) on Bleibtreustraße in Charlottenburg. Franz Stadler, whom the cinema describes as a pioneer of the Programmkino scene, took it over on 1 October 1971, and the cinema says it made its name over the years with its festivals as well as its programme. Since 2011 it has been run by the Berlin film producers Tanja and Regina Ziegler.
There are two rooms with different access. Saal 1, which the cinema calls filmkunst 66, has 156 seats in the basement. Saal 2, which the cinema calls filmkunst 66 1/2, has 50 seats at street level, and the cinema's accessibility note says it can be reached without barriers.
The cinema often shows films from other countries in the original version with German subtitles, marked OmU. That label does not by itself mean English audio. Our listings here are for English-audio screenings.
